Rules for Dink Tournament
The basic rules for games is rally scoring, games to 15 win by one. The ball must bounce in the kitchen for five shots and then the ball can be hit anywhere on the court after the fifth bounce. When the serve is made and the ball bounces in the other court, that is the first bounce. It will be useful if the players count out loud the number of bounces so there is no confusion on the number of bounces.
There will be three levels of play; beginner/recreation, intermediate and advanced. Players can self determine their level of play, the tournament director will have the final say on what level a player can compete.
Don’t be concerned if you are not familiar with rally scoring, most players have played this system and will help you with the scoring.
After each match, players will report their score to the scoring table. You will give the score you and your partner had for that match. After each match you are assigned a new partner. Your individual score for six matches that you play will be added up. The composite score of your match scores will be used in determining the tournament medalist.
Each player group will have a court manager to assist with any further questions.
